Go for Instagram App Reviews
Perfect app, it’s all I need for instagram! The only thing that is missing is a “mobile” layout similar to the Go for Facebook app. All that needs to be done is allow the window size to be shrunk down. Right now it doesn’t let you make the window smaller. I just want to have a small window for this app! The app also doesn’t load on start up automatically when the option is set, but my Go for Facebook app does launch on start up!
Love the layout and it really does almost everything I need except allow me to post pictures from my computer! Is there any way in the future that could become a reality?
It’s just the instagram website.
This app is nothing more than a webview of the instagram website. Kind of pointless.
Keeping the app because it’s better than the official instagram website or mac app, but you still can’t upload pictures to it! That would make it miles beter than the iphone app
Useless App
Don’t waste your time on this App, it’s a waste of time and disk space. You’ll not be able to post pictures on this App. Useless!
thnx!!
great app :)
The app window is way too big - it has unnecessarily large white borders - so it doesn’t work at all for being in split screen view. I would love it if it was skinny, and just showing the images not huge borders. Also the images don’t load very quickly.
Lousy
Don’t like this app at all. It doesn’t allow you to expand the pictures or post from my laptop.
Don’t even install
There is no upload option :(
Its a port of the instgram website to a desktop app; Instagram’s desktop website lacks pretty basic funstions as its focused on being a mobile platform. It would be nice instead of just porting the stripped down desktop version of instgram they offer more features, such as posting and searching (pretty basic features).
Just as useless as the website
Why let people comment from the desktop but not post?
While this is a basic app for your Mac to brows through your feed, there are functionality issues: 1) The menu bar icon is an a very unattrctive b&w. How hard would it have been to add the color Instagram icon. That’s just laziness and thus, quite lame. It’s like looking at an icon from 1992. 2) No options to upload and edit from your desktop. This is a continued issue many have with Instragram as some of us have hundreds of thousands of photos we would share that come from sources other than our phone or tablets. It’s Instagram (an now Facebook’s) lack of vision. 3) You can’t shrink the window to your desired capacity. I’m using a 15” Macbook and want a split screen between the app and something else I have opened. The Instragram app takes up 2/3rds of the screen and can’t be resized any lower. I can manage it better via the webpage, so this app is virtually useless.
What a total disappointment. This app merely replicates the website version of Instagram with no real functionality. I compared Go for Instagram with InstaReel and InstaReel is tons more functional, as it mimics the mobile version of Instagram. You can view all your likes, your notifications, your timeline, the popular, search, and your profile, all by easily accessible tabs. This new app strips almost all of that convenience. I can’t even resize the app to be a narrow pane like InstaReel, as this new app uses too much realestate of empty space. Such a waste. The only thing that’s nice about Go for Instagram is the fresh UI. Even InstaReal is still faster. Glad I snagged this while free, or I would have had a real fit. FibLab is totally disappointing these days. They need to focus on the important apps that need love such as NotesTab. It hasn’t recieved a good update in a while. It lacks key features that they claimed they’d be working on or may come, yet nothing til this day, and it hasn’t taken advantage of Yosemite’s new look. Such a pain to look at these days.
You want something useful? 1. Post photos from Photos—correctly scaled and uploaded. 2. Annotate photos before posting. How? Go get Grambler and just add the scaling and annotation feature. Then we will have something useful.
Pointless
No reason for this application to exist, it’s just the feature-free Instagram website. Get InstaReel instead.
I cant see that it adds any benefit. You can do the same thing through your browser. You cant upload photos and the darn app doesnt even show as open anywhere so if you lose track of it , you have to reopen it. Bad app etiquette!
i have all the FIPLAB social media apps(exclude twitter cause they have their own) and they always impress me. i dont spend as much time on my mac as much as my iPhone but its nice to not have to find my phone to look at pics on IG. love that it stays on the menu bar so my dock isnt overflooded, i can like pics, comment and search. And im sick of people being mad that you cant upload photos, Instagram said that you can only upload through a phone. NO one can change that unless Instagram inc decides to change that, thats not FIPLAB’s fault
Don’t bother
Just like browsing to instagram.com. No functionality.
Mr.
I like the fact that it is clear and large, at this time I am not totally familiar with all the possibilities of this program.
